Wellness Wednesday: Pause, Recharge, Thrive: Your Guide to Wellness Day at NC State

With Wellness Day just around the corner, NC State is here to remind you that self-care matters! Feb. 11 is the perfect opportunity for you to leave your hectic schedules and recharge! This special day is committed to enhancing your mental, physical and emotional health through relaxing and rejuvenating activities across campus.
Pause, recharge, and thrive this Wellness Day – it’s your time to reset and refresh for a brighter, balanced you! Let’s take a closer look at some of the exciting events at NC State this Wellness Day.
Relaxation Station: Your Hub for Unwinding
Throughout the day, from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., there will be a relaxation station at the Wellness and Recreation Center. Take a moment to unwind, reset and recharge your mind and body. Enjoy calming activities like coloring, which is known for reducing anxiety and promoting mindfulness, along with soothing aromatherapy to relax your senses. Mood-boosting snacks will also be provided to nourish and energize you. Taking time for activities like these can help reduce stress, improve mental clarity and restore overall well-being. Items and activities are available while supplies last, so stop by and treat yourself!

Yoga and Movement Classes
Feeling like you need to stretch it out? NC State Wellness and Recreation hosts yoga and gentle movement sessions. These classes are beginner friendly and tailored to help you find balance and relaxation. They are a judgment-free zone with no expectations! Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or trying it for the first time, these sessions are a wonderful way to reconnect with your body and mind. Yoga is known to improve flexibility, reduce stress and enhance mental clarity.
Outdoor Walks and Nature Therapy
Take advantage of NC State’s beautiful campus with guided nature walks around Lake Raleigh. The hike is around 1.5 miles and will roughly take one hour to fully complete. Being able to explore all of Lake Raleigh’s beauty is something you don’t want to miss. Don’t miss this opportunity to truly reconnect with the outdoors.

Counseling and Wellness Check-Ins
Wellness Day may be a time for you to check in with your mental health. Events like the Pawsitive Support Network drop-in can help to break your day with puppy love. As a self check in, you might want to explore the Counseling Center’s regular drop-in hours for students to chat with counselors in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Resources and tips for managing stress and staying resilient throughout the semester will also be available.
