Windhover’s 2024 Edition Brings a Fresh Face to the Traditioned Magazine

The latest edition of NC State’s annual literary magazine Windhover is out now and orients the publication toward an exciting new direction, with bold strokes exhibited from design to literary and visual pieces.

Jeanine Ikekhua is one of the recipients of this year’s Ebony Harlem Awards for Excellence. The awards, which began in 1993, are sponsored by the African American Cultural Center.

Incoming NC State Student Media Business and Marketing General Manager Carter Fields was honored as second-place best sales representative by the national organization for College Media Business and Advertising Managers (formerly called CMBAM) on April 19.

The Story Behind the Stories: Technician Chronicles Historic Basketball Seasons

The team of student journalists at Technician, NC State's student newspaper, worked tirelessly to bring first-hand game coverage and special, commemorative issues to campus as both Wolfpack basketball teams advanced to the NCAA Final Four.

Emily Vespa wins Student Media’s Dean Phillips Award

Emily Vespa is the recipient of the Dean Phillips Award for General Excellence for the 2023-2024 academic year. This is the top award for Student Media for students who show intrepidity and passion for student journalism.

Student Media Raises $7,400 on Day of Giving

NC State Student Media raised more than $7,400 from 51 donations during NC State’s 2024 Day of Giving. 

Members of NC State Student Media won 23 awards at the 2024 NC College Media Association conference at High Point University. Four print outlets – Agromeck, Nubian Message, Technician, and Windhover – all won best-in-show awards. Student Media Brings Home Statewide Journalism Awards

NC State Student Media brought home several awards from the North Carolina College Media Association’s annual conference on Feb. 24.
