Windhover’s 2024 Edition Brings a Fresh Face to the Traditioned Magazine

The annual release of Windhover, NC State's literary magazine, features more than 50 works of art from the campus community. The pieces include art, film, music, poetry and prose.

The latest edition of NC State’s annual literary magazine Windhover is out now and orients the publication toward an exciting new direction, with bold strokes exhibited from design to literary and visual pieces.

“Sometimes we forget that art is meant to push boundaries,” writes Ryley Fallon, Editor-in-Chief for Volume 58, in her preface to the magazine. “Our designers drew inspiration from punk and zine culture to create this edition, hoping to usher in a new, fresh era for Windhover.”

Literary selections range from poetry pieces on identity and culture to short prose pieces which provide readers escapism, while remaining grounded in the beating heart of the NC State community. Visual selections are diverse and enticing, with moving paint, graphic design and mixed media pieces telling the stories of submitters.

Audio and Video selections can be viewed on the Windhover website.

Copies of the magazine can be found in the Student Media office in Witherspoon Student Center, as well as in Student Media kiosks and dozens of other distribution locations across campus.

The team aims to carry this fresh momentum into the 2025 edition and beyond. Those interested in submitting to the magazine or working with the team’s volunteer committees for Volume 59 may email windhover-editor@ncsu.edu.
