When you walk into the school building for the first time and see all those young faces looking back at you, as unsure of themselves and as unsure about the trajectory of their lives as you once were, you honestly believe that you will be doing the bulk of the educating.
North Moore high school is full of encouragement with the primary focus being on the students. The confidence the students receive is consistent.
Many of the Health and Exercise Studies (HES) Faculty have been extremely busy with traveling, training, and competing in the Duathlon World Championship in Pontevedra, Spain. More than 35 countries were represented, and among the thousands of athletes were NC State faculty members Randy Bechtolt, Sally Almekinders, and Renee Harrington.
The NC State community is invited to celebrate Veterans Day on Monday, November 11 with a free 2-mile run around campus, a ceremony, and refreshments.
Being a first year adviser, the transition has been a little overwhelming. The days really seem to fly by, especially since I keep myself busy meeting students, planning for future events, and engaging with parents.
One important part of the college application process opens the first day of October: FAFSA.
We will need NC State employee volunteers for a canvassing event to visit homes in the surrounding neighborhoods. Come be a good neighbor!
