Miyah Wilson Receives International Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award
Miyah Wilson, residence director for NC State University’s North and Watauga Halls, is the recipient of the 2020 Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award from the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I). The annual award is given to an exceptional graduate assistant working in the student housing profession.
Wilson is a second-year graduate student in the higher education administration master’s degree program, through NC State’s College of Education.
“Miyah brings boundless energy and optimism into the work that she does,” said Meghan Luzader, interim director for residence life. “She truly cares for each student she interacts with and is a light for those around her. Miyah has helped to bring structure to the diversity work happening within the department, has invested a significant amount of time in helping to develop our changing teams, and has been an example of advocacy for the residents who live on-campus.”
ACUHO-I is the premier professional association that serves a global membership in the higher education housing industry. Nominees for the Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award must demonstrate passion for the student housing profession, have an interest in advancing the profession through their professional work, and must show impact on their home institution through service and leadership.
