Minute with Mullen: The Importance of the SECC
Greetings!
It is that time of year again when we, as a campus community, come together to support the State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC). This is our chance for NC State to give back to the community that supports us.
As you may know, the SECC has been raising funds for worthy organizations since 1985. During this time, the Campaign has raised over $95 million from employees from around the state. This Combined Campaign raises funds for federations and independent charities that represent a variety of local, state and national health, education, and social service organizations.
The past several years have been difficult for so many in our community, including many here at NC State. This is an opportunity for us to assist those who need a helping hand by supporting the organizations of your choice. There are over 1000 organizations to which you can direct your contributions, so there is likely a cause that is important to you on the list.
The amount you give is not important, but giving any amount that you can afford makes a difference in the lives of others. Thank you for participating in the SECC and for making a commitment to improving lives in our community.
