DASA Tops Total Gifts Leaderboard on Day of Giving

NC State’s 2025 Day of Giving was once again a reminder of the tremendous support the Wolfpack community has offered the Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA).
Our wonderful supporters helped us remain at the top of the Participation Leaderboard throughout the day, with DASA finishing at the top of the leaderboard with 2,410 gifts totaling more than $419,000!
“Day of Giving is a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we come together as a community,” said DASA Vice Chancellor and Dean Doneka R. Scott. “The Division of Academic and Student Affairs is committed to ensuring that every student has the resources and opportunities they need to thrive at NC State and beyond. The generosity of our donors, whether through financial contributions or engagement, directly supports essential programs like Pack Essentials, student wellness initiatives and transformative learning experiences. On behalf of DASA, thank you for your continued support, and for your dedication to helping us build a stronger, more connected Wolfpack.”
Thanks to unwavering support from its donors, the division also unlocked two challenge matches:
Pack Essentials Challenge: When the Pack Essentials fund reached 350 total gifts, Brad Remmey, ‘94 and Ginny Remmey donated $50,000 to the fund, and Steve Deaton, ‘79 and Gladys Deaton donated $25,000. This was the largest challenge gift in Pack Essentials program history, and will help the program continue to combat basic needs insecurity on campus.
With this year’s challenge gift, Pack Essentials will be able to increase the standard cap on Student Emergency Fund grants for the first time in program history. This increase in grant funding will provide a much-needed boost in the level of financial support available to NC State students who struggle with basic needs insecurity.
Music Challenge: With NC State celebrating 100 years of music during the 2024-25 school year, a generous challenge gift will ensure the program’s continued ability to provide unique experiences for its students. When the Music Enhancement Fund received 200 total gifts, an anonymous donor gave $100,000 to the Marching Band Fund.
Finishing at the top of the total gifts leaderboard earned the division a bonus gift of $4,199.
