Military and Veteran Services Hosting Veterans Day 5K, Ceremony

NC State Military and Veteran Services and the Army ROTC program will sponsor a Veterans Day 5K followed by a ceremony at the Memorial Belltower on Thursday, Nov. 11. 

The schedule is as follows:

• 5:45 a.m.: Runners arrive at Memorial Belltower
• 6 a.m.: 5K begins, walkers frontloaded
• 6:40 a.m.: Pipe and drums begin playing music | Bruegger’s Bagels and Coffee serve breakfast
• 6:45 a.m.: Run concludes at Memorial Belltower
• 7 a.m.: Ceremony begins (25-minute Ceremony)

The ceremony will include:

• Welcome: Nick Drake
• Color Guard and National Anthem
• Remarks: Lt. Gen. (Army retired) Daniel Bolger 
• Memorial Belltower history: Thomas Stafford
• Vase presentation: Raleigh Sister Cities 
• Honor the Fallen: Army Cadet Kendall Lydon
• Bagpipes: Amazing Grace
