Introducing State Stats

DASA Assessment introduces its new series featuring data that can help faculty and staff better support students.

DASA Assessment is pleased to introduce State Stats! This weekly series will be posted on the DASA Assessment website every Monday and will be included in each DASA Internal Connections newsletter. The purpose of State Stats is to connect the DASA community with division- and university-level data. We hope this data will promote discussion and consideration about the work of faculty and staff within the division and about how we can better support NC State students.

DASA Assessment staff will select the weekly State Stats in collaboration with faculty and staff in the division. Some State Stats may utilize public university-level data (e.g., data from Institutional Strategy and Analysis or Enrollment Management and Services). Each State Stats post will include a link to information about the source of the data. Most State Stats will include data that was obtained through rigorous data collection and analysis. Data may have originally been presented in lengthy reports. Please read the linked document(s) for additional information about how the data was collected and analyzed.

Here is the first State Stat as an example!

All State Stats will be archived at go.ncsu.edu/StateStats. DASA Assessment staff welcome feedback on State Stats as we pilot the initiative this year (2023). To submit a State Stat for consideration, please click here.

Note: DASA Assessment staff thank the DASA Marketing and Communications office for their support on this project. State Stats was inspired by “Metric Mondays” at the University of Oregon.
