Explore Academic and Career Paths Through Focus 2 Workshop
The Career Development Center is offering two Focus 2 Career Assessment workshops this semester to help students make sense of their results and use them to inform academic and career decisions.
This interactive, hands-on workshop is designed for students who have completed (or plan to complete) the Focus 2 Career Assessment and want guided support in understanding what their results actually mean. During the session, students will review their interests, values, skills, and personality preferences, and explore how these elements connect to a wide range of academic programs and career paths.
Career professionals will guide students through the Focus 2 platform, answer questions and provide strategies for using assessment results as a starting point for major and career exploration. Students will also learn how to articulate their strengths, motivations and fit — skills that are useful not only for decision-making, but also for conversations with advisors, mentors and future employers.
Who should attend?
While these workshops are especially helpful for first-year students who are beginning to think about majors and career options, students at any stage are welcome. The workshops are particularly beneficial for students who are still exploring their options, questioning potential career paths or seeking clarity and direction at any point in their academic journey.
Why attend?
Beyond gaining career insights, students often leave with reassurance and a sense of community. Many participants discover they are not “behind” — their peers are navigating similar questions and uncertainties. The workshop provides a supportive space for shared learning, normalization of exploration and clear next steps for career development.
