Once again, the Wolfpack pulled together to help the Division of Academic and Student Affairs earn a tremendous amount of support on NC State’s 2024 Day of Giving.

On the day, the division raised more than $500,000 through 2,558 gifts, the most cumulative gifts the division has earned in Day of Giving History.

Thanks to unwavering support from its donors, the division also unlocked two challenge matches:

Feed the Pack Food Pantry Challenge: In partnership with an anonymous couple, Steve ‘79 and Gladys Deaton gave $50,000 to the Feed the Pack Food Pantry when the Student Emergency, Feed the Pack and Pack Essentials funds reached 850 total cumulative gifts. This donation will help Feed the Pack purchase a van for food pickups and other transportation needs.

Department of Performing Arts and Technology Challenge: When the Music Enhancement Fund and Dance Enhancement Fund received 300 cumulative gifts, an anonymous couple gave $50,000 to the Marching Band Fund. These funds will help the band fund travel opportunities similar to last summer’s trip to Wales.

Upon reaching 2,500 total gifts, the division also received $6,250 from the NC State Foundation’s challenge.

The top five departments in total gifts were:

  1. Feed the Pack Food Pantry
  2. Pack Essentials Fund
  3. Dance Enhancement Fund
  4. Music Enhancement Fund
  5. Student Emergency Fund

The division and its departments won several social media and hourly challenges:

“The Wolfpack community has once again amazed us with their unwavering support on the Day of Giving,” said Doneka Scott, Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. “We are grateful to all our students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends for their boundless generosity. Your contributions, whether monetary donations or participation in social media challenges, highlight the extraordinary nature of our community and provide our students with the necessary tools to excel at NC State and beyond. We are truly thankful for your continued support in helping DASA lead the Pack!”

As one of the largest divisions on campus, the Division of Academic and Student Affairs is committed to supporting the whole student, and has an impact on the life of nearly every student to don the red and white.
