Counseling Center Statement on Sexual Violence in Media

NC State’s Counseling Center wants to acknowledge that hearing about sexual violence in the media and online can elicit a variety of reactions. Some of our students may feel more empowered and validated by knowing that this topic is being discussed at a national level. However, others may feel overwhelmed by these conversations and may be re-experiencing painful memories of how sexual violence has impacted their lives and/or the lives of their loved ones.

Remember, if you need a safe and confidential space to talk, The Counseling Center is here for you. We encourage you to visit the Center during regular business hours or if you are in need of support after hours, please contact us at 919.515.2423 and select option #2 to speak to an on-call counselor.
