Bragaw Residence Hall Offline for Spring Semester

Residents will be reassigned to other vacant spaces in campus housing and COVID-19 safety measures for occupancy will be maintained.

Bragaw Hall

Bragaw residence hall will be offline for the spring 2021 semester, following an unforeseen facilities issue in the basement that caused catastrophic damage to its electrical system. No residence hall living or community spaces were affected. The building will be closed and inaccessible to students and other members of the campus community while repairs are made.

Residents of Bragaw are being assigned to other vacant spaces in campus housing, and EcoVillage residents will be moved to Wood Hall B in order to help maintain the village experience. All COVID-19 safety measures announced for spring housing will still be maintained, including all residents having a single room and limiting suites to four people.

Bragaw’s offline status will affect non-residents as well. The C-Store located in the building will be closed, and community members won’t be able to pass through the building to get from Dan Allen Drive to Fountain Dining Hall nor Lee and Sullivan residence halls.

More instructions were given to Bragaw residents regarding their new housing assignment in a recent email. Here is what students can anticipate with the change in assignment:

  • University Housing is making every effort to keep suitemates in close proximity during the reassignment process, but space limitations may not make it possible in all situations.
  • New housing assignments should be available in the housing portal by the end of business on Monday, Jan. 11. If you are signed up for a Bragaw move-in appointment, you must make a new appointment in your reassigned community once your new assignment is listed in the housing portal.
  • Residents will be assigned to a single room of comparable cost.

Residents who have further questions about their housing assignment or other pre-move-in inquiries may contact housing@ncsu.edu.
