The team of student journalists at Technician, NC State's student newspaper, worked tirelessly to bring first-hand game coverage and special, commemorative issues to campus as both Wolfpack basketball teams advanced to the NCAA Final Four.

Employees Receive Awards for Excellence at Division Level

Seventeen DASA faculty and staff were nominated for Awards for Excellence, with four winners selected by a committee of previous winners from the division.  

Technician Managing Editor Emily Vespa with Dean Phillips, the namesake of the award. Phillips is a multi-award-winning Senior Lecturer Emeritus from the NC State Department of Communication.

Emily Vespa is the recipient of the Dean Phillips Award for General Excellence for the 2023-2024 academic year. This is the top award for Student Media for students who show intrepidity and passion for student journalism.
