WKNC Wins Design Award

A design created by Raney Wilson for her weekly "The Tangerine Hour" DJ shift, was awarded second place in a national contest for college students.

Student radio station WKNC 88.1 FM HD-1/HD-2 may be known for its music programming, blogs and podcasts, but it’s also being recognized for its design work.

Raney Wilson, a third-year student studying art and design and political science, serves as the station’s principal graphic designer. A design she created for her weekly “The Tangerine Hour” DJ shift was awarded second place in the promotions and advertising category of the Edmund C. Arnold chapter of the Society for New Design at Michigan State University annual student design contest.

WKNC typically fairs well in the contest, also earning honors in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
