Student radio station WKNC 88.1 FM HD-1/HD-2 is a finalist for Radio Station of the Year in the College Media Association’s Pinnacle Awards. Presented annually at the National College Media Convention in the fall, the Pinnacle Awards recognize the top student newspapers, radio and TV stations, magazines, websites, and yearbooks from the previous academic year.
This marks WKNC’s fourth time receiving the honor since the Pinnacle awards program was founded in 2012. The station was also named a finalist in 2012, 2014, and 2019.
Other finalists for Four-Year Radio Station of the Year are 91.1 The Globe at Goshen College, WICB at Ithaca College, WMUL-FM at Marshall University, and KTUH at University of Hawaii.
CMA also recognizes individual excellence in student advertising, broadcasting, design, online, photo, sports, and writing.
