Media Consultant Dora Gonzalez won first place in the Best Sales Representative category, and Student Business and Marketing Office General Manager Mersina Boynton received an honorable mention in the Best Advertising Manager competition. In addition, NC State Student Media brought home third-place honors in the Best Digital Self-Promotion Ad competition for its Fall Frolic ad campaign.

Gonzalez, Boynton and Zanna Swann, the adviser to the NC State business and marketing team, all attended the conference, which was held Feb. 28 through March 2 in LaJolla, California. While there, the team attended numerous sessions aimed at helping college media organizations generate more revenue and more effectively market themselves both on and off campus.

The Student Media Business and Marketing Office serves all of Student Media’s outlets – WKNC, Nubian Message, Technician, Agromeck and Windhover — and is charged with generating some 20 percent of Student Media’s total budget each year. In addition to Boynton and Gonzalez, the office boasts seven student media consultants.
