The Student Media Business Office recently attended the College Media Business and Advertising Managers Convention (CMBAM). The convention was hosted in Philadelphia this year, and the Office was able to send their Business Adviser Abi Barefoot, General Manager Allie Gervase and Media Consultants Layla Faith Batts and Caitlyn Muniz.

The CMBAM Convention was attended by representatives from more than 24 college media organizations across the country. There were 16 information sessions, various networking events, and opportunities to collaborate with other programs. Summaries of all sessions are available on the Student Media website, to share the insights exchanged at the conference.

While in Philadelphia, the Business Office was honored to accept two awards for Student Media’s radio station, WKNC 88.1 FM HD-1/HD-2. They placed second for Best Self Promotional Audio Ad and first for Best Digital Self Promotion Ad.

In addition to attending training sessions and collaborating with other departments, Gervase led a presentation titled “Maximizing Efficiency with the Sales Tracker: A Step-by-Step Guide.” Gervase guided attendees through the creation of the sales tracker and answered questions on customizing this tool for different programs. The presentation also showcased how the tracker streamlines sales operations and improves collaboration across Student Media.
