State Farm Sales & Marketing Academy Announces Winner!
NC State University held its second State Farm Sales & Marketing Competition on April 21st, 2017. Twelve students, whose majors range from Psychology to Livestock & Poultry Management, competed in a sales role play with actors posing as prospective clients. The students had to build relationships with the clients and inform them about State Farm and its services in a compelling way. The role play was recorded from the State Farm Sales and Marketing Lab in Pullen Hall, where a panel of judges critiqued and scored the students.
Our Winner
Parker Lee, a sophomore majoring in Business Administration – Marketing, came out on top in the competition! He received a new MacBook Air for his accomplishment. Congratulations, Parker!
“The State Farm Sales Academy offered me the unique opportunity to learn all the different facets of selling, from handling objections, to asking the right questions, to establishing trust with who are you working with. The one-on-one time with an experienced State Farm agent was invaluable in giving an inside look as to how to build lasting relationships and sell ideas and products. I would recommend this to anyone in any major who sees the value in knowing how to motivate and persuade others. In the end, everyone is in the “people” business, and State Farm knows people.” – Parker Lee
