Reed Earns SAEOPP Professional Scholarship for TRIO Professionals

La’Toya Cesar Reed, assistant director of TRIO Talent Search, has received the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SAEOPP) Professional Scholarship for TRIO Professionals.

The SAEOPP is the regional TRIO association that serves North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Alabama. Each year, the region hosts a scholarship competition for professionals to compete for funds to cover tuition or professional development costs. Reed was one of a select few recipients in 2022 from the eight states.

In her role at NC State, Cesar Reed provides supervision for the TRIO Talent Search Legacy and TRIO Talent Search Encore programs. Reed is a native of North Carolina and a graduate of Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, N.C. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and a master’s degree in business administration. A first-generation college graduate and TRIO-SSS alumna, Reed has over 10 years of experience working with TRIO Programs and currently serves as a North Carolina TRIO Board member. She is passionate about student advocacy and is committed to supporting policy change to support access and equity in higher education. Reed serves Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design.
