First Year College Welcomes New Advisor

The Division of Academic and Student Affairs joins the First Year College in welcoming new Assistant Director for Assessment and Academic Advisor Annie Carlson Welch.

Originally from the Chicago area, Annie also lived in Florida and Oregon before moving to the Triangle. She received her B.A. in History and Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her M.S. in Higher Education from Florida State University.

Annie will serve as an academic advisor and course instructor in the First Year College, and will also oversee assessment efforts for the department. She takes inspiration from the incredible optimism and boundless energy of students. Those traits, she feels, will change our world for the better.
