Duo Requirement for Sensitive Purple Data Departments

All employees in the following departments must activate Duo Security to enhance security for Shibboleth-enabled applications and services by Monday, February 27. If it is not activated, then you will not be able to access enterprise systems that use Shibboleth (such as SIS, HR, Financials, Leave) on Tuesday, February 28.

  • Academic Support Program for Student Athletes
  • Counseling Center
  • Disability Services Office
  • Office of Student & Community Standards
  • Student Health Services
  • Student Legal Services

These departments deal regularly with ultra-sensitive data, and are being required by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to implement Duo. Eventually, all university employees will be required to use Duo, but these departments have been identified must implement Duo immediately to improve data security.

Please review the information below and begin now making plans to activate Duo; if you have questions, please submit them via dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu.

Deadline

All staff (permanent, temporary, student, retired, no-pay) must activate Duo no later than Monday, February 27. If it is not activated, then you will not be able to access Shibboleth protected systems on Tuesday, February 28.

  3. Register for Two Factor Authentication hosted by OIT
