DASA Director for Marketing & Communications

Please welcome Justin Hammond to the Division of Academic & Student Affairs as the Director for Marketing & Communications. This is a new position in the Office of the Vice Chancellor & Dean, created in part to meet specific goals of the Division’s overall strategic plan. Justin will begin on June 2, 2014.

Justin is a 2004 graduate of NC State University with undergraduate degrees in Communication and Business Management. Justin has worked at Duke University and Duke University Health Systems in various marketing capacities for seven years. For the past five he served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Duke Eye Center and Department of Ophthalmology in the Duke University School of Medicine. There he was responsible for the marketing and communications for a department with over 70 faculty members, 400 employees, and 11 clinic locations throughout North Carolina and Virginia.

He comes to us with expertise in brand building and management; marketing and communication planning and execution; print design; media relations; project management; and web site design and management. He is very excited to join the DASA team and to come home to NC State!
