Congratulations to Lulu eGames Winners!

We are thrilled to announce that several University Scholars won big for entrepreneurial projects they entered into the annual Lulu eGames competition last week.

The Lulu eGames is NC State’s annual startup competition. The competition runs through the spring semester and includes two rounds with six categories: New Venture, Design & Prototype, Social and Environmental Impact, Arts Venture, Built on Cloud and Daugherty Endowment.

The 2018 competition wrapped up on Thursday, April 5, at the Lulu eGames LIVE event.

The eGames is made possible by a generous gift from online publishing company Lulu.com.

The University Scholars that placed in the competition include:

  • Sarah Alenzi and Madison Baldwin for their project, Cup’t. Cup’t is taking customers from size to sale, accurately measuring women’s’ breast size and selecting the best retail options, redefining the bra shopping experience.
  • Sofia Abdo for her work developing Freshpire. Freshspire is a network and platform that connects food suppliers who have excess produce to restaurants who want to buy it at a lower cost.
  • Lindsay Wrege and Elise Romola for their project 321 Coffee. 321 Coffee is a growing pop-up coffee shop that is run by individuals with special needs.
  • Goutham Subramanian and his team for their work on TRASHR. TRASHR installs sensors into dumpsters to make the waste collection industry smarter, cleaner, and more efficient.

These students really are putting their education into action and bringing their ideas to life. We encourage you to find the resources on campus to do the same for your ideas, big or small!
