The division received more gifts than any other NC State college or unit. In addition to their gifts, alumni, faculty and staff, parents and students also helped the division win nine hourly social media challenges on the day.

Extraordinary Difference: Ryan Unger

Challenge Gift to Address Student Housing Insecurity

Steve Deaton ’79 has issued a special challenge gift to support housing scholarships through the Pack Essentials program on Day of Giving. If 100 gifts are made, he will provide $25,000 to the fund.

In response to alarming rates of food and housing insecurity among college students, NC State is joining forces with the city of Raleigh and other area institutions to develop systems-level solutions. The effort is sponsored by the National League of Cities.

Paying it Forward

Ryan Unger received support from the Student Emergency Fund after losing his home and his job in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This year, he was able to give $2,500 to help students facing similar struggles.
