Campus Life Staff Members Recognized

Staff members who have demonstrated a willingness to go above and beyond their typical job duties in support of the goals of Housing programs are eligible for the R. Randy Rice Service Award. NC State is proud to announce that three members of the University Housing community are recent recipients of this award.

Accounts Payable Accountant Ashley Chilton has been an asset to Campus Life. During a time when staffing was limited, she was essential in making sure that payments continued to be processed in a timely manner. She also took responsibility for reconciling 10 PCards. These tasks are typically completed by a separate employee; Ashley took on the work of two full time people. While many were vocally supportive of the department during this stressful time, Ashley helped in the most practical way, by rolling up her sleeves and pitching in.

Lisa Miles is dedicated to providing a positive on-campus experience for students. As the IT Manager for Campus Life, she led efforts to increase security in the residence halls through the installation of security cameras and ID access to buildings. She is also responsive to student needs. Regardless of what she is working on, she will pause to find answers to questions for students, particularly if they are experiencing technology-related issues.

As an Administrative Assistant for University Housing, Dianne Williams strives to provide students and families with exceptional customer service. During New Student Orientation, she assisted countless students and guests visiting Bragaw Hall, even going so far as to escort lost individuals to other areas of campus. She also made efforts to engage incoming students and their families in conversations about the transition to campus, demonstrating that we all play a role in enhancing the on-campus experience for our students. She has also been instrumental in assisting with a renovation project to enhance customer service efforts at Bragaw Hall’s 24-hour service desk.

DASA is lucky to have so many staff members who are glad to go the extra mile, helping to create a memorable college experience for students and a positive work environment for fellow faculty and staff. Congratulations Ashley, Lisa, and Dianne!
