Campus Health to Launch New Pharmacy App

NC State Campus Health Services is taking its efforts to support the Wolfpack community to new heights this winter, substantially increasing the ease in which patients can manage their prescription medications.

Starting in December, Campus Health will partner with a web portal and mobile phone app called RxLocal. Through this app, Campus Health patients can chat directly with pharmacy staff through a secure, two-way system to ask questions about their prescriptions.

Patients can also submit refill requests, view the status of their prescriptions and more.

“I think it’s going to make things a lot easier for our patients, provide transparency about when their orders are ready and make the pharmacy team much more accessible to them,” said Campus Health Pharmacy Director Thomas Sinodis.

Patients can access the RxLocal services either through the web portal on a computer or the mobile app on their smartphones.

Once patients register an account through the service, supplying information such as name, phone number, zip code or a prescription number will match them with Campus Health’s pharmacy.

The new app will provide an easy, stress-free method for the NC State community to manage their prescriptions, right from the palm of their hand.

“They can get answers about their prescriptions 24/7 through the app, whether we’re open or not,” Sinodis said. “And if they send us a message after hours, we’ll see it the very next morning and respond right away.”
