Anti-Virus Upgrade – June 11

Beginning the evening of Wednesday, June 11, 2014 DASA Tech will automatically deploy the new Kaspersky Antivirus software and replace Trend Micro on all Windows-based computers, both desktops and laptops.

If you have a desktop or laptop that requires a unity ID and password, the updates will run automatically. Please make sure you do the following on Wednesday, June 11:

  1. Save your work
  2. Log off
  3. Leave the computer powered on

Otherwise, the updates will run the next time you log into the machine, which may severely disrupt your work. The computer may reboot itself multiple times during the installation process.

If your laptop does not require a unity ID and password to login or if you have a Mac desktop or laptop, please coordinate with your local tech support staff to ensure that these updates are manually run as soon as possible.

You may notice pop-up notifications. These are normal and require no action on your part. They will resolve at the completion of the installation.

If you have any questions, please contact your Local Tech Support through your department’s Get Help address.
